This weeks look into what I'm building at Over-Stimulated.
Yo
Feels good to be writing the second entry of the series. Last week's session gave me a boost of focus and clarity on what needs to be done in a time when I'm usually winding down for the year.
Let's review the the progress made last week:
Automated Quoting System
As part of the upcoming rebrand of my dev studio, I want to introduce a system where existing partners and new clients can get a ballpark price for their project instantly.
I made solid progress on the backend of the system last week:
Set up a Resend workflow to email the submitter their quote.
Created test logic to handle pricing (this will require a lot of refinement)
Explored a potential new feature that would improve the accuracy of the system. Don't want to share to much on this just yet...
For the frontend, I want to create something non-typical and enjoyable to fill out (without killing conversion obviously). Here are some screens of what I'm thinking:
Rebrand (Outkast Studio becomes Over-Stimulated®)
Last week, Lovish from Otherdays completed the new brand for Over-Stimulated. It looks dope and has been well-received based on the snippets I shared on X. Here's a quick glance:
Brand update looking freeeesh
I've also started exploring the motion design and development for the carousel that serves as the centrepiece of the entire design. I want it to feel unique while serving its purpose of showcasing my work as soon as you land on the site. Here's one of many explorations:

You can get some pretty interesting results when blending scroll velocity with distortion.

I've posted most days for the past two weeks, and the results have been kinda crazy:
3 new potential leads for 2025.
Website visits are up 300%.
Multiple DMs from people wanting to talk about building cool shit.
Understanding the "why" behind posting has made it way easier (and more enjoyable) to use and leverage socials. I generally enjoy writing and seeing progress makes me want to write and share more.
I also started the project_log series last week and have been looking forward to writing what you are reading all week.
Clients
I mentioned last week that I have 3 client projects in active development: a modular CMS build for a credit union, a site for an AI company, and a design agency site build.
Last week's focus was on completing the static build for the credit union. I missed my internal deadline by one day due to complexities with pagination on dynamic pages. I'll be wrapping this up today and sending it to the partner design studio to start QA. This project is due by Christmas, so it's my top priority.
The other two clients have changes ready to be implemented, so I'll be jumping back into those this week.
Goals for the week ahead
This section is where I set goals for the upcoming week to keep myself accountable.
I'll be focusing majority of my time on client projects this week. I have a call about a potential new project for 2025 later in the week that I'm excited about.
Here's the actionable:
Get 100% of the credit union site into QA. This will be a huge push. But if I can get it done, it'll give me a lot of breathing room for changes before Christmas.
Build recruitment integration for the AI company. I'm migrating their existing site away from Webflow, so one task is to set up a system that pulls their recruitment information into the new site.
Content — Maintain the habit of posting daily and sharing my work.
Continue exploring the carousel for the site rebrand. I'd like to get it closer to the design to have a better idea of how it'll feel in context. This is my after-work, "feel like doing something" goal.
That's all for this week. Thanks for reading. Keep crushing.
